You’ll now learn to extract information encoded in XML format into the Catalog class.
Deserializing an Object
For the sake of this example, assume the following class already exists in your project:
<?php
namespace App\Model;
class Catalog
{
/** @var Cd[] */
protected array $cd;
/**
* @return Cd[]
*/
public function getCd(): array
{
return $this->cd;
}
/**
* @param Cd[] $cd
*/
public function setCd(array $cd): void
{
$this->cd = $cd;
}
}
If you want to deserialize this XML into an object, you only need to use the Serializer service.
use App\Model\Catalog
$data = <<<EOF

$normalizers = [new GetSetMethodNormalizer(null, null, new PhpDocExtractor()), new ArrayDenormalizer()];
$encoders = [new XmlEncoder(), new JsonEncoder()];
$serializer = new Serializer($normalizers, $encoders);
$person = $serializer->deserialize($data, Catalog::class, 'xml');
In this case, deserialize() needs three parameters:
1. The information to be decoded.
2. The name of the class this information will be decoded to.
3. The encoder is used to convert that information into an array.
In our example, we use PhpDocExtractor for extracting type information from the PhpDoc comments. About this method, you can read more in Symfony Documentation.
